The “Great Indian Public” which mostly constitutes
of the “Great Indian Common Man”,is indeed taken for a ride. With all the scams
and scandals tainting the Nation every now and then, what is he actually
thinking? Rather what his perception is? Has it changed? Obviously it’s bound
to change. Now, he doesn’t look at the Government with hope, but with
Suspicion. In fact it won’t be an overstatement to say that almost all the
Government Activities are seen with distrust. No, it can’t be called cynicism,
he has precedents from the past, so can’t blame him and the reputation of the
government has also become such. However, objectivity should always be vouched
for and followed.
“Common Man” is not sly and indolent, he is in fact
diligent and has his own work to do, earn his bread, feed and look after his
family. And Yes Dream, dream for a better future, if not for him at least for
his children. And yes he still stands for his rights and being a bona fide tax
payer of the country; he is liable to know where exactly his hard earned money
is being spent. In the walk up to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, each and
every party is vying to make its
presence felt and also are trying to make a positive impact on the people,
under the current circumstances, positive impact is quite unlikely. Nevertheless
they are trying their best. Some of them are keeping their cards very much
close to their chests, whereas others are openly flaunting them. But, should
the common man be influenced by political games and stunts. Certainly not, they
should be looking at the credibility, integrity ,the potential and the previous
work done. Though some of the qualities may be very elusive, but they can’t be
compromised. People in the rural areas may at times get swayed by false promises
or even inducements, because they are not
that educated and most of them are completely unlettered .But, what
about us, people in the urban parts, our voting percentage is minimal ,and I
feel that’s one of the chief reasons that
wrong people get voted to power. It’s high time that we not only indulge
in intellectual discussions but also vote, because only grumbling about won’t help
we need to act. Lastly, with all my humility
I would hope that the “Great Indian Public” knows what it is doing and saves
our Great Nation from going to the dogs.
